Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026
Hi, welcome to Besito. Dating is personal, so privacy matters to us. This policy explains, as plainly as we can, what personal data we collect when you use the Besito Android app and besito.in, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. It is written for India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules, and Google Play's policies.
1. Who we are
Besito is operated by Pankaj Sengar, an individual, of 8A Gold Souk Mall, Sector 43, Gurugram (Gurgaon), Haryana 122002, India ("Besito", "we", "us"). We decide how and why your personal data is processed, which makes us the "Data Fiduciary" under the DPDP Act.
2. Where this policy applies
This policy covers the Besito app, besito.in and any other Besito service that links to it (together, the "Service"). If a feature has extra privacy terms, we'll show them when you use it.
3. Data we collect
We only collect what we need to run Besito. Some of it you give us, some is collected when you use the app, and a little comes from others.
Data you give us
| Category | What it includes |
|---|---|
| Account | When you sign in with Google: your name, email address and Google account ID. We never see your Google password. |
| Profile | Name, date of birth (we show your age, not the date), gender, who you'd like to meet and what you're looking for, photos, voice prompts, and anything you add such as bio, interests, job, education, city or area. |
| Verification | If you choose to verify, a selfie taken in the app. Our team compares it with your profile photos by eye; we don't create or keep a facial-recognition template. |
| Content and activity | Chat messages, voice notes, likes, super likes, Around You requests, blocks, reports, and places you recommend or suggest. |
| Purchases | For Besito Plus and Boosts, Google Play sends us the purchase token, product, order ID and expiry. Google processes the payment; we never see your card or UPI details. |
| Support | What you write to us at [email protected]. |
Data collected when you use the app
| Category | What it includes |
|---|---|
| Precise location (with permission) | Used to show distance and your area, suggest nearby date spots and power Crossed Paths. If you allow background location, the app sends an approximate location about every 15 minutes even when it's closed, so it can tell you who you crossed paths with. You can switch this off in Android settings at any time. |
| Bluetooth (Around You, with permission) | Your phone broadcasts and listens for a random ID that changes every 15 minutes, so Besito can tell when members are physically close. It reveals nothing about you to anyone outside Besito. |
| Camera and microphone (with permission) | Only while you take photos or the verification selfie, or record voice notes and voice prompts. |
| Usage | Profiles you view and who viewed yours, likes and matches, when you were last active. |
| Device and diagnostics | Push notification token and your notification choices, app version, device model, Android version, and crash and freeze reports (which include your account ID and email so we can fix problems you run into). |
Data from others
Other members may share information about you, for example by reporting you or recommending a date spot you visited together.
4. Why and how we use your data
| Purpose | Data used | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Create your account and show your profile to other members | Account, profile, photos, age, approximate distance | Consent |
| Discover, likes, matches and chat | Profile, preferences, likes, messages, voice notes | Consent |
| Around You and Crossed Paths | Bluetooth ID, location | Consent (permission) |
| Date spot suggestions | Location, places you like or recommend | Consent |
| Safety: verification, reviewing reports, stopping fraud, spam and abuse, enforcing our Terms | Selfie, profile, messages, reports, blocks, activity | Consent; legal obligations |
| Notifications you've turned on | Push token, activity | Consent |
| Besito Plus and Boosts | Purchase data | Consent; legal obligations |

You give consent when you create an account and when you grant each app permission. You can withdraw it any time by turning off a permission or deleting your account; features that depend on it will stop working.
5. How we share data
With other members
Members see your profile: name, age, photos, voice prompts and what you add. They never see your exact location, only an approximate distance or area. In Around You, people see a soft, blurred photo until you've both said hi. On the free plan, people who liked or viewed you appear blurred and without a name; Plus members can see them. Anyone you chat with sees what you send them.
With our team
Authorised members of our team can access accounts, profiles, verification selfies and chats to keep members safe: to review reports, investigate abuse or fraud, or answer a support request. Every time a team member opens a chat, it is logged.
With service providers
We use these providers ("Data Processors") to run Besito, under contracts that only let them use your data to provide their service to us:
| Provider | What for |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, file storage and sign-in |
| Google (Sign-In, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Firebase Crashlytics, Maps and Places, Play Billing) | Sign-in, push notifications, crash reports, maps and place details, payments |
| Cloudflare | Website hosting and delivery of date spot videos |
| Hostinger | Our support email |
For legal reasons
We may disclose data when the law requires it, for example to respond to a valid request from Indian law enforcement, to protect someone from serious harm, or to defend legal claims. If Besito is merged or sold, your data may transfer to the new owner, who must keep protecting it under this policy.
We don't sell your personal data, and we don't share it with advertisers.
6. Where your data is stored
Our main database and file storage are in Mumbai, India. Some providers (such as Google and Cloudflare) process data on servers in other countries. We only use providers that protect personal data to the standard Indian law requires, and we follow any restrictions the Government of India places on transfers.
7. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can:
- Access: ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;

- Erase: delete your account in the app, or see besito.in/delete-account;
- Withdraw consent at any time;
- Nominate someone to exercise your rights if you die or become incapacitated;
- Complain: raise a grievance with us, and if you're not satisfied, with the Data Protection Board of India.

8. How long we keep your data
- While your account is active we keep your profile, matches and messages.
- Location pings for Crossed Paths are deleted after 24 hours; each crossed-paths record after 90 days.
- Profile views are deleted after 90 days.
- Voice notes in chat are listen-once: the audio is deleted once played, or after 7 days if it never is.
- When you delete your account, your profile, photos, matches, messages and activity are deleted. Copies may stay in encrypted backups for up to 30 days. We keep limited records longer only where the law requires it, to stop a banned person coming back, or to handle a legal claim.
9. Children's privacy
Besito is only for adults aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If we learn an account belongs to a minor, we delete it. If you think a minor is using Besito, report the profile in the app (choose "Looks under 18") or email us. See our Child Safety Standards.
10. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited by role, and verification selfies and voice notes are stored privately. Read more on our Security page. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we'll tell you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.
11. Changes to this policy
We'll post changes here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
