Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 4 October 2026
Everyone deserves to date. We want Besito, the app and besito.in, to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who are blind or have low vision, are Deaf or hard of hearing, or have motor, cognitive or other disabilities.
What we aim for
We work towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA for besito.in, and Android's accessibility guidelines for the app.
What we do
- Screen readers. Key elements in the app, such as people in Around You, buttons and icons, have labels for TalkBack, and images on besito.in have text alternatives.
- Text size and contrast. The app follows your Android font size, and we design with strong contrast between text and background.
- Simple language. We try to write clearly and avoid jargon, including in our legal pages, which open with plain-language summaries.
- Keyboard access on besito.in, with clear headings to navigate by.
- Text first. Voice prompts and voice notes are optional, and every profile can be read as text.
Known limitations
We're a young product and some parts aren't fully accessible yet: for example, some animated screens and the Around You timeline may be harder to use with a screen reader, and date spot reels don't have captions yet. We're working on these.
Tell us
If something in Besito is hard to use, please email [email protected] with the subject "Accessibility", tell us what you were trying to do, and which device and assistive technology you use. We'll reply, help you another way in the meantime, and use your feedback to fix it.
